The exhibition comprehensively reveals to the public the appearance, connotation, characteristics, and intricacies of the ancient Shu civilization, presenting the development of Chinese civilization in pluralistic unity and the five outstanding characteristics, with the hope that the audience will appreciate the colorful and profound Chinese civilization, according to Chu Xiaobo, director of Shanghai Museum.
