On June 12th, “The Glory of Ancient Persia: Treasures from Iran” Exhibition, co-curated by the Shanghai Museum and the National Museum of Iran, inaugurated in the Shanghai Museum. This exhibition has assembled 285 exquisite cultural relics, with the intention of showcasing the splendor and magnificence of the ancient Persian civilization and its intermingling with Chinese civilization.
It is reported that the exhibition will interpret the extensive history and splendid civilization of ancient Iran through three thematic sections. Iran’s Minister of Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Sayyid Ezzatollah Zarghami stated that the exhibition not only narrates the rich tapestry of Iranian culture, art, and civilization but also attests to the profound history of Sino-Iranian interactions. Chu Xiaobo, director of the Shanghai Museum, expressed that the museum plans to introduce more thematic exhibitions related to the ancient civilizations of the world, positioning the Shanghai Museum as a showcase platform for global civilizations.
