On July 2nd, the exhibition “Wallace Chan: Half A Century” was inaugurated at the Shanghai Museum East. The public now has the unique opportunity to explore the artistic universe of Wallace Chan, one of the most influential contemporary Chinese jewelry artists of the 21st century, in what is also his most extensive solo exhibition to date.
Co-curated by Shanghai Museum and Danish royal jewel curator, Ms. Nina Hald, the exhibition presents an array of over 200 exceptional pieces. These include the “Wallace Cut,” “Metamorphosis,” “Apsara,” “Hera,” “Stilled Life,” and “Return of the King,” offering a visual feast that celebrates Chan’s mastery. The exhibition is thoughtfully organized around three thematic axes: “Sculpture and its Medium,” “Chaos and Enchantment,” and “Wisdom and Strength.”
The showcase is set to take place in the Bright Dairy & Food Exhibition Gallery 1, commencing from July 3 to October 7, 2024, offering a window into the timeless artistry of Wallace Chan.
