Shanghai Museum Unveils 2025 Exhibition Plan

On January 3, the Shanghai Museum held a press conference to reveal its exhibition plan for 2025. During the event, Chu Xiaobo, director of the Shanghai Museum, detailed the museum's upcoming exhibitions and provided in-depth introductions to the highlights.

In 2025, the Shanghai Museum will host 20 special exhibitions, including 12 new shows at its People's Square location and the East Branch, 2 international exhibitions, and 6 extended exhibitions. The exhibitions will span ancient and modern times, covering both Chinese and Western cultures. They aim to showcase the artistic and cultural achievements of various periods of world civilizations from multiple perspectives and to explore the continuity and inheritance of Chinese civilization at different levels. Notable exhibitions include:  
At the People’s Square location: The Spring Festival exhibition for the Year of the Snake and a special exhibition on Haipai cheongsam and century-long fashion.

At the East Branch location: Major exhibitions such as the Impressionist Art Collection from the Pola Museum of Art and the Hongshan Culture Ancient Civilization Special Exhibition.
