“Historical & Contemporary China：A Global Perspective” The 2nd World Conference on China Studiesis was held in Shanghai

The 2nd World Conference on China Studiesis was held in Shanghai on October 13 to 15th 。The conference jointly hosted by the State Council Information，Office of China and the Shanghai Municipal People’s Government. It is organized by the Information Office of Shanghai Municipality and the Shanghai Academy of ocial Sciences with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of China, the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Renmin University of China, Fudan University, Beijing Foreign Studies University, and Beijing Language and Culture University.
The theme of the Conference is “Historical and Contemporary China:A Global Perspective”.Five parallel sub-forums will be set up.The Conference seeks to establish an academic dialogue that connects historical and contemporary China, to deepen exchanges on the continuity and innovation of Chinese civilization, and to examine the civilizational implications, practical experiences, and global significance of China’s path. It aspires to foster broader, deeper, and more substantial consensus on the development of China studies, whilefurther advancing dialogue and mutual learning among civilizations worldwide.
Around 500 renowned experts and scholars from across the globe are invited to participate in in-depth discussions on these topics. The Conference will also release the Shanghai Initiative for Global Mutual Learning and Advancement of China Studies.
